The President stressed Egypt's keenness to play an active role within the framework of the IAEA, especially in light of assuming the presidency of the General Assembly of the Agency this year, and its contribution to the many initiatives and programs of international and regional co-sponsored agency. Sisi pointed to Egypt's interest to pay efforts to implement the "clean energy corridor in Africa" initiative, as well as the activation of renewable energy in Africa initiative put forward by Egypt in the framework of its presidency of the African Commission on Climate Change. He expressed within this framework for Egypt's aspiration to strengthen cooperation with the agency at the regional level in Africa, especially as it is the continent most in need of energy.
